Petroleum sorbent pillows are designed with a scrim that encases particulate sorbent material. Pillows are used in areas where more capacity is desired than can easily be achieved using a sorbent pad.

Key Features & Uses:

• Oil-Only Application: Primarily for petroleum-based spills (oil, gasoline).
• High Capacity: Holds significant liquid, often around 2 quarts or 0.5 gallons per pillow.
• Water Repellent: Absorbs hydrocarbons but not water, making them perfect for bilge areas.
• Durable & Tear-Resistant: Encased in a scrim (mesh) for strength, preventing linting and tearing.
• Versatile Placement: Small size makes them great for drip pans, tight spaces, or directly under leaking equipment.
• Multi-Use (Some Variants): Some folded versions can be used as booms, pads, or rolls.

How They Work:

• Place: Position the pillow at the source of a leak or spill.
• Absorb: It quickly soaks up oil and fuel.
• Contain: The scrim holds the liquid within the pillow.
• Dispose: Once saturated, remove the used pillow for proper disposal, often allowing water to be pumped overboard legally if used in marine bilges.
