Green Deane” has been foraging since he was a youngster, like his mother and grandmother before him. He took to it early and spent his childhood outdoors, developing interests in hiking, camping, exploring and, finding plants. He studied locally with noted forager Dick Deureling and was a member of the Native Plant Society. He started giving wild food presentations about 20 years ago. Towards that end, he created his itemizing” system to not only give beginners a way to organize information but also to teach them a successful method to investigate a plant and make sure key points are covered.
